Day 10.5 … Closure Has Many Forms

Oh Heart, if I could tell you the different ways to heal you.

I would hand you the manual to reconstruct yourself.

Like a Build a Bear, I would help you recreate you.

The phrase “broken-hearted” wouldn’t exist.

The world would know only of Love.

A fellow Utopian.

Alas my dear let me ease you down the real road of closure.

It has many paths, many forms like Angels and Demons that appear to us in disguise.

The first is the most basic, the most prized of them all.

The heart to heart, literally exchanging each other parts of your anatomy.

But remember that you will not recognise yourself at first.

Remember you’re not the same heart that started out in that relationship.

You’ve been misused and mishandled, don’t worry about the scratches or dents.

We can repair that.

Let’s look at your internal workings, your hardware and software.

Make sure you haven’t been tampered with, scan for any Trojan horses.

Fear not we have reinforcements on your Firewall.

The second is, well the drift apart type.

Like two ships sailing away from one another ever so very very very slowly

Until the gap is so immense that you don’t realise how much you’ve grown apart.

Like two trees, who were once intertwined locked at the roots.

They had grown with one another, from seedlings to great oaks

That no longer knew one another, they’ve turned away from love.

Unanchored themselves from their soul tie, leaving each other unscathed.

The third is more cut throat, like a deadlock a stalemate.

You have to keep a distance between yourself and you’re opponent your prey.

Whoever draws last loses it all, their weapons aren’t man made but themselves.

Words the most lethal atomic warhead known to all, the ones that have the most poison.

The one with the most weight behind the punch that will hit way below the belt.

You can even request to have an umpire present, so all fouls or brutally is marked and accounted for.

So the winner can be announced and the loser left to puck up their broken self esteem.

Reminisce and accept that closer has many forms.

Many that we take for granted and most we never want to deal wtih.

But low and behold its a chapter closing.

And a new one beginning.

Sincerely Yours
